Hello, my name is Josiah, and I am a transfer student at UC Berkeley. Previously, I worked at a nonprofit after school program, Child Development Centers. I held the position of Teacher Assistant. An integral part of the program was academic support, which basically was a designated studying time for the children (one hour each day) during which teachers would assist children with their academics. Academic support was, absolutely, my favorite aspect of the job. I loved helping children learn, maybe because I love to learn myself. Also, my teaching approach was practical. I did not limit myself to one way. If I was not effectively conveying the problem or material to a child in need, I would amend my approach in order to better fit each individual child.
